The ACM's Second North American Computer Chess Championship (NACCC) was held at the Chicago Conrad Hilton Hotel, Chicago, Illinois, USA, August 2 to 4, 1971. Professor Ben Mittman from the Northwestern University organized the event and acquired the services of David Levy, an International Master from Scotland, to serve as Tournament Director. In addition to organizing the tournament, Mittman also served as moderator for a panel discussion [1] . Taking part were the authors of the chess programs, Mittman, and Levy. Professor John McCarthy was in the audience and contributed to the discussion [2] .
