a Chess Engine Communication Protocol aka XBoard compliant open source chess program under the GNU General Public License by Thorsten Greiner, written in C. Its development already started in 1993 on the Amiga [1], and continued on UNIX platforms, in particular FreeBSD [2]. Amy 0,6 was ported to Windows for Winboard by Dann Corbit in early 2000 [3].

Amy applies ABDADA [4] inside a NegaScout framework [5] as parallel search algorithm, further using fractional ply extensions aka the SEX Algorithm , Null Move Pruning, and Extended Futility Pruning . Amy played the WMCCC 1995 in Paderborn and various International Paderborn Computer Chess Championships.
