Andrey Grigoriev, (Andrei Grigoriev)
a Russian physicist, molecular biologist, software developer and former computer games programmer, and since 2010 professor at department of biology, Rutgers University, New Jersey, and further founding director of its center for computational and integrative biology. He graduated from Moscow Engineering Physics Institute in 1986, and defended his Ph.D. in molecular biology from the Institute of Genetics, Moscow in 1995. During his Ph.D research, he developed algorithms and software for physical map construction at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London. From 1995 to 1998, he served as scientist at the Max-Planck Institute for Molecular Genetics, Berlin, and was affiliated with GPC Biotech, Martinsried, Germany until 2010 [1] .

Computer Games

During the late 80s and early 90s, Andrey Grigoriev published ten books on C programming language (Dialog Publishers, Russian), and developed computer games. He is author and co-author of multiple Renju, Gomoku and Qubic playing programs, participating at the first three Computer Olympiads, in total winning four Gold, one Silver and two Bronze Medals. At the Heuristic Programming in Artificial Intelligence conference at the 2nd Computer Olympiad, Andrey Grigoriev lectured on Simulated Annealing [3]
