Brutus (Brutus Chess),
a Chess Engine Communication Protocol compatible open source chess engine by Stephan Vermeire and Maurizio Platino, since Version 8 also UCI compliant. Brutus participated at the CPT 2008 and the CPT 2010, the over the board Chess Programmers Tournaments organized by Richard Pijl.

Brutus is a bitboard engine, determines sliding piece attacks with magic bitboards, uses alpha-beta with transposition table and null-move pruning, and supports SMP search [1]. Brutus 8.05 is able to read ctg bookfiles [2].
