Dreamer,
a Chess Engine Communication Protocol compatible open source chess engine under the GNU General Public License Version 3, developed by Kris McAulay and Walter van Niftrik et al. since 2003 [1], first released in November 2006 [2] within its own GUI DreamChess. Primary target platforms are Windows, Mac OS X and Linux systems.

Description

Dreamer is a bitboard engine with table-driven move generation, and applies alpha-beta with transposition table and iterative deepening. Its evaluation considers material, development, pawn structure, bad bishop, some rook bonuses, and king tropism.

DreamChess

DreamChess is an XBoard compatible OpenGL user interface with 2D and 3D graphics boards, packaged under the same license and suited to play versus Dreamer or other compatible engines like Crafty and GNU Chess [4].
