Hossa,
a chess program by Steffen A. Jakob written in C++. Steffen already started to write Hossa in the 80s and made it Chess Engine Communication Protocol aka XBoard compatible in 1998. Hossa is a bitboard engine [1] with many interesting features, such as book learning [2] and blockage detection [3].

According to Chrilly Donninger, Hossa has an asymmetrical King Safety mode. If Hossa is about 1.5 pawn units down, it increases the scoring of own attacks versus the opponent king, encouraging wild attacks on any costs with the chance of a lucky punch, instead of slowly loosing the game otherwise [4] [5] . Hossa consecutively played the eight first CCT Tournaments from CCT1 to CCT8, and further competed at the WCCC 2003 in Graz.
