Home * Engines * Ktulu

a strong commercial UCI and WinBoard compatible chess engine by Rahman Paidar distributed by Lokasoft. Ktulu has a sophisticated evaluation - King safety and passed pawn evaluation, completely rewritten in version 6.2, are responsible for its dangerous attacking style with strong tactical and positional play. Further, some unsafe pruning algorithms were replaced with more sound methods [1].

Ktulu played four CSVN tournaments over the board, the Leiden DOCCC 2005, DOCCC 2008, ICT 2009 and DOCCC 2009, the CCT10, CCT11 and CCT12 online tournamets, and the WCRCC 2007, the first ACCA World Computer Rapid Chess Championship.
