Martin Fierz,
a Swiss physicist, chess player [1] , chess and checkers programmer. Martin is research scientist at the University of Applied Sciences in Windisch [2], Switzerland, and CEO of naneos particle solutions, developing and building nanoparticle sensors [3]. He holds a Ph.D. in physics from ETH Zurich, and was postdoc at the Cluster Research Group - Department of Physics and Astronomy, University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Martin Fierz is author of the Chess Engine Communication Protocol and UCI compatible chess engine Muse [4] , the Checkers engine Cake [5] and the Checkers GUI CheckerBoard [6] .
