Peter-Ingolf Gericke,
a German sales person and former computer chess venturer, in the late 70s and early 80s active in the dedicated chess computer business. In 1977, he made a contract with Fidelity Electronics about the shipment of 5000 Chess Challengers, and subsequently initiated the Computer Chess boom in West-Germany as marketing manager of the West-Berlin and Munich based MI Service Gesellschaft [1].


Gericke continued his chess venture as shareholder of Consumenta, merchandising the Conchess brand of chess computers [2], before he went out of the computer chess business [3].
