Shrike,
a WinBoard compliant private chess engine written by Dan Newman in C++ [1]. Shrike applies a non-rotated bitboard approach to frequently scan the board for sliding piece attack and move generation [2]. Shrike played the first three CCT Tournaments, CCT1, CCT2, and CCT3. At CCT1, running on a Pentium III, 500 MHz, Shrike searched about 500,000 nodes per second [3].
