Alexander (Alex) Schmidt, ^[1]
a German computer chess tester, UCI Arena partner, opening book author ^[2], and clone and derivative chess engine investigator for the Arena team, involved in the Patriot ^[3], Fafis ^[4], Lord King ^[5], Deep<9>, xyclOps, and Lion investigations, to name a few ^[6]. He maintained the uciengines.de site, providing informations on UCI engines as well as CECP aka WinBoard engines ^[7], most famous for their 2005 interview with Vasik Rajlich on Rybka ^{[8] [9]}. Actually, Alexander Schmidt is collecting informations in his Computer Chess News blog ^[10], hosting a Chess960 ^[11] and a 9x9 Go league ^[12] .
