Alois P. Heinz, a German mathematician, computer scientist and professor of CS at Heilbronn University. He received a diplom degree in CS from RWTH Aachen in 1984, a Ph.D. in mathematics and habilitaion in CS from University of Freiburg in 1990 and 1994 respectively. His reaearch includes machine learning, neural networks and neural trees as descendants of decision trees [1], also applied to evaluation of a alpha-beta search as generalization of lazy evaluation [2] [3].
