Alvaro Jose Povoa Cardoso,
a Portuguese checkers programmer, and author of the Portuguese checkers (Spanish checkers, classical checkers, Jogo de Damas Clássicas ^[1]) engine Profound, initially written in Powerbasic 2.1 augmented with many assembler instructions ^[2], considered as one of the strongest classical checkers engines ^{[3] [4]}. Alvaro is long term member in CCC.
