Bareev versus Hiarcs Match, between Evgeny Bareev (2729 and world's number eight player, peak rating of 2739, and world's number 4 in October 2003 [1]) and HIARCS 8X took place in Centre Céramique, Maastricht, The Netherlands, from January 28 to 31, 2003. The four games match was organized by the Chess Events Maastricht Foundation [2]. HIARCS 8X operated by its author Mark Uniacke ran on an AMD Athlon 2.0 GHz with 1GiB RAM [3]. After four draws, the match ended in a 2-2 tie.
