Ben Ruijl,
a Dutch physicist, computer scientist and Ph.D. researcher at Nikhef and Leiden University. Involved in the HEPGAME project [1] [2], using the latest insights from artificial intelligence like Monte-Carlo Tree Search and UCT, he is trying to solve extremely complicated equations in high energy physics. These equations come from higher order loop corrections of Feynman diagrams and are essential to make theoretical predictions for collision processes at CERN. At the 18th Computer Olympiad 2015, along with Simon Portegies Zwart, he organized the Computer Diplomacy Challenge [3] [4].
