BlackBishop,
a free Chess Engine Communication Protocol and UCI compatible chess engine by Andreas Herrmann written in Delphi, first released in April 2004 [1]. BlackBishop evolved from his former engine Holmes , and applies NegaScout with null move and futility pruning, and lazy evaluation, maintains Attack tables for king safety and other evaluations, and performs move generation with the help of piece tables. BlackBishop was most active in 2004, playing the IPCCC 2004 and CCT6.
