The first Chess Programmers Tournament,
was initiated and organized in June 2008, by Richard Pijl, author of the engines The Baron and Crashtest Dummy (CTD). It took place in De Bouwhoeve, Hoogstraten-Wortel, Belgium. Nine participants, six round swiss, time-control was 90 minutes per side and game.
