Wolfgang Delmare's first chess program, playing the WCCC 1986, WMCCC 1987 and WMCCC 1988 [1]. Chat was written in Pascal, typically running as DOS engine with a command line interface, at the WCCC 1986 on a CDC Cyper 175, at the WMCCC 1988 as dedicated unit on a 68020 processor with a SciSys Leonardo board [2] [3] as user interface [4] [5] . According to Thorsten Czub, Chat had only a brute-force search depth of one ply, but was otherwise quite selective [6] .
