Claude Jarry,
a Canadian computer scientist, and in the 70s and early 80s while affiliated with McGill University as student of Monroe Newborn [1], chess programmer. He is author of L'Excentrique, a chess program running on Amdahl mainframe computers [2], at the WCCC 1980 in Linz with the first round victory versus Chess 4.9, becoming strong fourth.
