Dmitri A. Gusev,
an Associate Professor of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue University. He received a B.Sc. in applied mathematics from Moscow Institute of Radioengineering, Electronics and Automation in 1993, and a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in computer science from Indiana University Bloomington in 1996 and 1999, respectively. His primary research interests include imaging, graphics, game development, visualization, and computational linguistics . He uses open-source chess programming in higher education, and is along with Norman Schmidt and Matthew R. Brades involved in the development of Firenzina, a derivative of Fire xTreme by Norman Schmidt and Milos Stanisavljevic [1] .
