Gary Maltzen, (May 23, 1943 - March 01, 2007 ^[1])
was an American computer scientist, CompuServe forum sysop, and early chess programmer. In the 70s, while affiliated with Sperry Univac Roseville, Minnesota ^[2], he was co-author of the chess program Black Knight, along with Fred Prouse, Kenn Sogge and Lonny Lebahn ^[3].
