Giuseppe Maggiore,
an Italian computer scientist and Indie games developer, lecturer and researcher at Academy for Digital Entertainment[1], NHTV University of Breda, where he is involved in the International Game Architecture and Design (IGAD) program [2]. Giuseppe holds a Ph.D. in CS from Ca' Foscari University of Venice in 2013, on the topic of programming languages for game development, where he already graduated at both the Bachelor and Master of Science in CS. His further research interests include planning algorithms paired with statistical and machine learning techniques.
Casanova is a functional, declarative game programming language, in which large scale, production level quality games can be created with less effort than before. The system is well suited for the development of web-based experiments where large amounts of data on social behavior of subjects are to be harvested. The project entails improving the language and run time system and using the system for creating video games as well as serious games, which are used for training purposes.
