Glen Brent Pepicelli, (June 22, 1975 - May 10, 2012 [1])
of Niskayuna was an American computer scientist, programmer and consultant. His interests did include Java, OOP, C++, Perl, Linux and Open Source[2]. He contributed to various computer science areas, at Wikipedia on Stax and Bitboards. His excellent publication Bitwise Optimization in Java: Bitfields, Bitboards, and Beyond at O'Reilly's OnJava.com site [3] about Bit-Twiddling and Bitboards is highly recognized by the chess programming community.
