Homer,
an UCI and Chess Engine Communication Protocol compliant chess engine written by Daniel Mehrmann in C, started in early 2003, first released in July 2005, available for multiple platforms and operating systems, such as Windows, Linux, Mac OS X and Solaris [1]. Homer already had its tournament debut at the CCT7, and further played the CCT9 and the WCRCC 2007, The First Annual ACCA World Computer Rapid Chess Championship. Over the board, and able to play Chess960, Homer participated at the Chess960CWC 2005 and Chess960CWC 2006 Livingston Chess960 Computer World Championships, and the DOCCC 2005. Homer applies what Daniel calls Peak History Reduction to deal with saturation of the history scores for late move aka history reductions [2].
