Ioannis Refanidis,
a Greek computer scientist and associate professor at Department of Applied Informatics of University of Macedonia, Thessaloniki. He holds a Ph.D. from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2001 on Heuristic State-Space Planning. His research interests include artificial intelligence, planning, scheduling and constraint satisfaction, Semantic Web, mobile computing, game theory and educational software. Along with Nikolaos Papahristou, he worked and published on Temporal Difference Learning and Endgame Tablebases in Backgammon, and on playing backgammon variants using any board size [1].
