Along with Raphael Grundrich and Thomas Adolph, Jean-Francois Romang is co-author of the Chess Engine Communication Protocol and UCI compatible chess engine Cassandre, which started as a student project at Louis Pasteur University, Strasbourg [1]. Along with David Rabel, Jean-Francois is co-author the UCI compliant chess engine Gaïa, and wrote the Android UCI compliant GUI ChessPad [2] [3]. His recent project PicoChess is a dedicated chess computer based on Stockfish and DGT Board [4], in the meantime supported by Shivkumar Shivaji and Jürgen Précour.
