an UCI compliant experimental open source chess engine by Peter Garscha, written in C++ and released under the GNU General Public License, version 3. Interesting are various playing modes, that is search algorithms and/or evaluations to choose from, such as alpha-beta with or without quiescence, pure Monte-Carlo search, Monte-Carlo tree search, and UCT, the latter with similarity modes, where moves inside the search tree or during the playouts are pruned based on a database of many played chess games, initializing a similarity lookup-table .
