Norman Alasdair Macleod, (December 06, 1927 - October 02, 1991) was a Scottish chess player and chess composer. He is author of the early orthodox problem producing and solving program Composer, mentioned by László Lindner [1] and briefly explained by Macleod in ICCA Newsletter, Vol. 6, No. 2 [2]. In 1993, FIDE awarded him the title of International Grandmaster of Chess Composition [3].
