Pulsar,
a Chess Engine Communication Protocol compatible chess engine by Mike Adams, written in C. The development started in October 1998, and with help from people on ICC's channel 64, most notably Kiwipete and Diepeveen, Pulsar started its life in December and January of 1998/99 [1]. In June 2003 Pulsar has been released for the first time. In the meantime, Pulsar is available for x86 and x86-64 under Windows, Linux or Mac OS, as well as for Mobiles and Tablets under iOS. Pulsar plays orthodox chess, as well as various chess variants, where some require one time in app purchase under iOS of the otherwise free engine [2].
