Simon Xinmeng Liao,
a Chinese Canadian computer scientist and professor in the Department of Applied Computer Science at University of Winnipeg, Winnipeg, Canada. His research interests include pattern recognition, image processing and computer vision. Along with Jing Yang and Mirek Pawlak, he researched on the game of Hex, and proposed new winning strategies for 7 x 7 and 8 x 8 boards.
