The Uniform-Platform Computer Chess Championship was initiated and organized by Don Beal at Queen Mary and Westfield College of London. There were three editions in the early 90s, using uniform platform IBM PCs with MS-DOS operating system. The first two editions had also a C group, all programs compiled with the same C Compiler and running on identical workstations. All games were played automatically.
