Valavan Manohararajah,
a Sri Lanka born, Canadian computer scientist and chess programmer, author of the chess program Rajah. He studied computer engineering at the University of Toronto, where he made his Masters Thesis in 2001 on Parallel Alpha-Beta Search[1] and his Ph.D Thesis on Area Optimizations in FPGA Architecture[2] under supervision of Zvonko Vranesic and Stephen Brown [3] .
