Vega,
a chess program by David Broughton written in Z80 assembly. Running on a North Star Horizon machine, Vega became runner up behind Sargon at the 2nd PCW-MCC tournament held in London November 1979. While Broughton was recruited by David Levy and Kevin O’Connell to work for Philidor Software on the Philidor project which lead to the commercial 6502 branch for the SciSys Chess Champion Mark V [1], Vega played a last time at the WMCCC 1980 in London [2].
