Vito Janko, a Slovenian computer scientist affiliated with the Department of Intelligent systems [1], Jožef Stefan Institute, Ljubljana. His research covers medical applications of activity recognition and energy expenditure, for instance to monitor the lifestyle of diabetes patients, using motion sensors of smartphones and an accelerometer equipped heart rate monitor. Along with Matej Guid, Vito Janko developed a program to play progressive chess as introduced at the Advances in Computer Games 14 conference, Leiden 2015, further promoted by Frederic Friedel at ChessBase [2] .
