a WinBoard, and since version 8, UCI compliant chess engine written by Igor Korshunov in C++, first released in November 2000 [1].
WildCat's search relies on PVS and null move pruning with verification search, late move reductions, and futility pruning and razoring at frontier nodes. Move ordering is applied by killer- and history heuristic - history table indexed by piece-type and target square, IID and SEE. WildCat keeps two best moves in the transposition table, and considers checks at the first ply of the quiescence search [2].
