William Tunstall-Pedoe,
a British computer scientist, AI entrepreneur and founder of True Knowledge Ltd. which specializes in knowledge base and semantic search engine software. William Tunstall-Pedoe graduated from University of Cambridge. In 1991, he wrote a CST Part II Dissertation describing ACPP, his advanced chess playing program, which was research vehicle in genetic algorithms and automated tuning of evaluation weights and search parameters, as elaborated in his ICCA Journal paper [1]. In 1992/93 he developed a complete commercial chess-playing program from scratch including a high quality chess engine, animated graphics, sound effects and a full state-of-the-art user interface. The product was marketed as Cyber Chess and published by The Fourth Dimension[2].
From 1988 Tunstall-Pedoe developed and marketed various AI related software, most notably Anagram Genius[3] and from 1996 Crossword Maestro[4] , a software which solves cryptic crossword clues and explains in plain English how the clues work.
