Xian,
an early Chinese Chess program by Nick Jacobs which was commercially available in 1988 for the IBM PC running under DOS, later also ported to Windows[1]. Xian played the 1st Computer Olympiad,London 1989[2]. Xian guarantees never to make an illegal repetitive move, but still lacks the knowledge to handle cases when a repetition would be legal - and in some cases it allows the opponent to make an illegal repetitive move [3].
