Xujun Duan, a Chinese neuroscientist at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Chengdu, Sichuan. Her recent research employs whether continued practice or rehearsal of the skill of board games and chess experts over a long period of time can lead to structural changes in the bilateral caudate nucleus brain region, and further examined the overall organization of brain functional networks in twenty grandmaster and master level Chinese chess players (GM/M) and twenty novice players, by means of resting-state functional connectivity and graph theoretical analyses [1].
