The Corel Chess project was lead by [[Alexander G. M. Smith]] <ref>[[http://web.ncf.ca/au829/resume.html|About Alexander G. M. Smith (agmsmith) - Corel Chess for Windows]]</ref>, who further developed the [[GUI]] with animation player spooling [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound|sound]] and [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Video|video]] off the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD-ROM|CD-ROM]] and draws it in the [[3D Graphics Board|3D world]] using the Windows regular [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphics_Device_Interface|GDI]] and Corel's off-screen [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bitmap|bitmap]] drawing code.
