a [[Chess Engine Communication Protocol]] aka [[WinBoard]] compatible chess engine by [[Balázs Jako|Balázs Jákó]]. It is a "homebrew", [[Brute-Force|brute-force]] search based program at about 2350 Elo points against computer opponents <ref>[[http://www.hun-digital.hu/merlin/index_en.html|Merlin Chess Engine]]</ref>. Merlin played various [[Hungarian Chessprogram Open]] tournaments, and won the [[MASPV 2004]] <ref>[[http://www.open-aurec.com/wbforum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=47721|New Hungarian Chess Program Champion!]] by [[Gabor Szots|Gábor Szõts]], [[Computer Chess Forums|Winboard Forum]], May 31, 2004</ref>, [[MASPV 2007]] and [[MASPV 2008]], and was runner-up behind [[Pandix]] at [[MASPV 2009]]. Merlin courageously played the [[WCCC 2013]] and [[WCSC 2013]] in [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yokohama|Yokohama]], and had a hard time in that strong field.
