a [[Robots|robot type]] [[Dedicated Chess Computers|dedicated chess computer]] by [[Milton Bradley|Milton Bradley International Inc.]], sold as //MB Grandmaster// on the American market, the //Milton// in Germany, The Netherlands and France, and the //Phantom// in the UK. It has a [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X%E2%80%93Y_plotter|X-Y plotter]] type [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Actuator|actuator]] with drive belts which pull a [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solenoid|solenoid]] up and down two metal rods in the x and y axes, able to pick up individual [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnet|magnetic]], and therefor recognizable pieces, and to move them over a touch [[Sensory Board|sensory board]]. The chess program and the software to control the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electromagnetism|electromagnetic]] system which moved the pieces was developed by [[Intelligent Software]].
