was a Russian [[Psychology|psychologist]], head of general psychology and Professor Emeritus at Faculty of Psychology, [[Moscow State University]]. =Chess=
In 1966, along with [[E. D. Poznyanskaya]], Tichomirov conducted [[Cognition|cognitive]] experiments with chess masters, notably measuring their [[Eye Movements|eye movements]] during the first five seconds after viewing a chess position <ref>[[Oleg K.
