**ProChess**,
an [[UCI]] compliant [[Open Source Engines|open source chess engine]] written by [[Edoardo Manino]] in [[Basic|Visual Basic]], first released in November 2011, in October 2012 with source code <ref>[[http://www.talkchess.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=45745|ProChess 102 A "doctor" released]] by [[Edoardo Manino]], [[CCC]], October 26, 2012</ref>. ProChess features a [[0x88]] board representation, [[NegaMax|negamax]] [[Alpha-Beta|alpha-beta]] [[Principal Variation Search|PVS]] with [[Iterative Deepening|iterative deepening]], [[Transposition Table|transposition table]], [[Null Move Pruning|null move pruning]], [[Futility Pruning|futility pruning]], [[Internal Iterative Deepening|IID]] and a [[Captures|capture]] and [[Promotions|promotion]] only [[Quiescence Search|quiescence search]]. [[Move Ordering|Move ordering]] considers [[MVV-LVA]], [[Static Exchange Evaluation|SEE]] and [[History Heuristic|history heuristic]]. Only safe [[Check|checks]] with positive SEE are [[Check Extensions|extended]] . A [[Tapered Eval|tapered eval]] interpolates between [[Opening|opening]] and [[Endgame|endgame]] [[Score|scores]], primarily based on [[Piece-Square Tables|piece-square tables]] <ref>[[http://www.g-sei.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/ProChess102AD.zip|ProChess102AD.zip | readme.txt]]</ref>. 

=Tournament Play=
ProChess played the [[IOCSC 2011]] and the [[IOCSC 2012]] Italian Open Chess Software Cup, the latter as best Original program, and the [[CCT15]] scoring 50%. At the [[IGT 2013]], ProChess lost the [[IGT 2013#Final|final]] from [[Chexa]].
