Rasputin, beside [[Merlin (GB)|Merlin]] Rollason's second chess program, was apparently a [[SOMA#SOMAALGO|Swapping Off Material Analyzer]] (SOMA) approach with a static lookahead that allowed the program to play with tiny [[Search Tree|search trees]].
